The entire neighbour blacked out just half an hour ago. Initially, I thought it was only my house that electricity tripped. But when I heard my brother shout from downstairs, The neighbours too!, I got excited and switched off the laptop (which was battery-operated) immediately.

It was such a starry night and seeing that got me more excited than I've been for a long time already, and I jumped about in delight. Usually, with all the street lights on, the minute stars can't be seen. But for that half an hour when the only light offered was from the candle we lit and Fu's torchlight, it was just amazing. They really looked like they were sparkling.

I almost wished it'll never end. That we could all be out at the porch, Dad strumming the guitar that was out of tune, Mom sitting by the table eating cookies, Wilson laughing while on the phone, Andii trying to take pictures of the stars that were always there, Fu and Ann running about getting themselves so tired that they had to sleep in the car.

I? I would just sit there by the pond, watching them.
