Jocelyn calls for the fifth time. Clear my throat and answer the phone.
"Hello?"
"Vicki! Oh my god, you're still sleeping?"
"Urmmm... What time is it?" I said, faking a drowsy voice, the kind of voice you only use when the lights are out and there's no one around. I looked at the clock.
"2.30!" She exclaimed. Correction, 2.15.
"Oh no..." my voice lits up.
"So are you still going to the chalet?"
"Should we? I'm a little lazy... I slept late last night and I'm still tired..." I made my mind up, I didn't want to go to the chalet.
And our conversation repeats because she keeps asking me if I still wanted to go, and I keep telling her I'm a little lazy and asks her back the same question. I really didn't want to go to the chalet.
Brendon calls. But it wasn't his voice, it was Jon's.
"Just come to the chalet, okay?"
And I find myself agreeing.
