Rendezvous

After going to Dbl O bar, which we paid but spent more time at the 7-eleven talking and sitting outside by Mohammed Sultan Road and feeling the heat from the vehicles passing, John came over to my house, and talked to Dad.
Dad said to him, "John, you see, girls are all materialistic. And you if you prove to them what you can offer them, they will all swoon over you."
I'm not like that. Yet?
So John's reply was, "Do you really want your girl to be with you for what you have?"
And Dad said almost immediately, as though he was expecting John to ask that, or it was a thought that was already etched on his mind, "What you have is what you are."
And it is, vice versa, what you are is what you have.
When John left, at about 5 in the morning, Dad said to me, "This John is a little weird, the funny sort. But he's a nice guy."
