Rendezvous

We talked on the phone for hours on end. About everything and nothing at all, through the night and never getting tired. At least, I didn't. We walked everywhere and anywhere our feet could bring us. In the train you're always so close. With an arm around my shoulders, you spoke to me like a little child.
Once you so charitably let him walk me home while you waited at the bus stop. I would never forget how cared for I felt when you took the day off to accompany me. Did you know how happy I felt when you surprised me with flowers though I said I hated them?
Remember that night we sat silently where blue lights emit from the ground? Remember trying to kiss me at the taxi stand after you said something that almost made me cry? Remember how I could never say I love you?
Remember telling me you'll never leave me, and when I said "Never is a promise. Don't make promises you can't keep.", you said ever so confidently, "This is a promise I will keep."?
Remember that night I told you I didn't mind that you wanted to leave?
I missed you. I do though I say I don't.
