I slept at about 5 a.m. last night watching Walt Disney's Alice in Wonderland. There's something very beautiful and quaint about Walt Disney's older cartoon movies. I especially love Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. The characters are beautiful and the protagonists always prevail; that's what attracted me to these films, that good will always triumph over evil (which is obviously not always the case in reality).

I was always quite scared of Alice in Wonderland. The peculiar behaviour of the white rabbit, the singing flowers that chased Alice away, the Cheshire cat whose grin can still be seen after the rest of its body vanished, the smoking caterpillar, the crazy tea party and the bad tempered queen of hearts... It's just all so eerie and bizarre, you know?

It's just way too weird for me.

When it got to the part where it was all dark and there were kooky birds around and Alice was alone and lost, I just cringed. It was just so foreign. Maybe I just don't like feeling lost.

The movie made me have a crazy nightmare last night.
