I had a blast last night, with a bunch of people I haven't met in ages, glad I didn't join Ken, Justin at the club. Jermaine picked me up from my place at about 7, with Andy and Jack in the car. Andy asked his signature, have you missed me? And I truly believe I did.

It was Raymond's 21st birthday, and I managed to catch up with people I haven't gone out with for year(s)? Sern, Christy, Shermen, Ed, and all. Sern and Andy's been with their girlfriends for a year or two now, and that made it even more apparent that we're growing up. Soon, Raymond and Sern will be out of the army and will be embarking on their careers, and I can't link them to the people they used to be, getting into fights in the school canteen (Sern fought with Jackson once because one of them was trying to cut another's queue) and spraying cologne in the school toilet to hide the cigarette stench on their school uniforms. They were 13-16 years old then, so it was acceptable for them to be poseurs and do stuff like that. So you can imagine how childish it will seem to me and to them probably, to see people in my college just starting to act that way despite being on the brink of adulthood.

Anyway, I sat in the car of one of Raymond's friends that I didn't know and it was almost awkward except everyone was nice and we headed down to this karaoke pub place, Discussion. I sang the only two mandarin songs I knew, out of the millions there were, and I felt shitty not knowing any more because mandarin lyrics are pretty and poetic, more so than a lot of mainstream english song lyrics (think Backstreet Boys' fire/desire rhyme). I sang a duet with Shermen and he reminded me of 3 years ago when we'd pretended we were dating one night at a concert! Then this hostess, Nikki asked if I'd like to do waitressing there? So strange, I told Jack and he said please don't, I'll never get used to it working in a place like this, but the pay was really tempting. I left at about 3 when the place was closing and I didn't join them for supper.

Promised Raymond to meet them again next week, and yes, I had fun last night.
