For most part of my life, I've been resistant to the mainstream. For no reason logical, I was naturally quite averse to the very notion of it. So in 2006 when Death Cab's I Will Follow You into the Dark came out, I should have characteristically hated it.
But there's something beautiful about what it's about. The idea of entering death like a place and entering it with hearts braced and no regrets. Then it's the idea of having a hand to hold while you're embarking on a journey you've never known. Without a doubt then, it's the idea of having someone who would want to hold your hand and be by your side through this unknown.
Something stirred when I heard this exquisite cover, and my night is made perfect. I hope it touches you as much.
